Plant-wide interoperability and decoupled, data-driven process control with message bus communication

چکیده

Conventional industrial communication systems suffer from rigidness, inflexibility and lack of scalability. The environment is heterogeneous as the exchange data with a variety protocols, some which are proprietary. This makes it laborious expensive to reconfigure or upgrade systems. As solution, this article proposes message-bus-based architecture enable information between regardless their geographical location position within functional hierarchy plant. not only enables cross conventional physical borders but also provides scalability growing volumes network sizes. proofs concept, presents prototype in three environments: copper smelter, steel plant distillation column. results suggest that approach has potential renew communications, core part fourth revolution.
